Joe Kalish, chief global macro strategist at Ned Davis Research, says that investors using the standard 60-40 stocks-to-bonds asset allocation need to reconsider their strategy because bonds will not deliver historic results in the future. Kalish suggests putting 20 percent of the bond weighting into alternatives, including real estate investment trusts and dividend-paying stocks.
